Farewell to Kenton Beachy

It is with immense gratitude for his time at MHAOhio that we say farewell to our Executive Director, Kenton Beachy. For the past seven years, Kenton has led MHAOhio through an incredible amount of growth and change and has done so with the integrity and compassion that he’s become known for within our mental health community.

Through his deep trust in our staff, belief in our mission, and strong strategic abilities, Kenton’s leadership has allowed MHAOhio to flourish. During his tenure we’ve added new programs and grown existing services year after year, tripling our staff and doubling our budget.

This change is hard, especially when things are going so well. We’ll miss Kenton more than we can express, but he’s leaving MHAOhio in a very good place — and for a very good reason. Kenton is fulfilling a careerlong dream of returning to northern India where he was born and spent much of his childhood. He’s accepted a position as the Director of Communications at Woodstock School, where he attended as a student.

Kenton’s last day will be May 15, and our Board has invited Tonya Fulwider to serve as Interim Executive Director as they begin the search for MHAOhio’s next leader.

“This is not an easy good-bye,” says Tonya. “Kenton has been a thoughtful leader and wonderful friend to us all. We’ll be forever grateful for the culture of support and respect that Kenton has fostered throughout his time at MHAOhio.”

During this transition we’re as committed as ever to the people we serve. Kenton is leaving us energized and clear-eyed to continue moving forward in our mission and values. Please join us in wishing Kenton all the best in his next adventure — we know he will surely make a huge impact there as well.
