Kim Flynn, CEO, CPSS Overcomers on the Move Anti- Human Trafficking Advocate
Kim Flynn is a peer at heart with an exceptional story of lived experience. She founded a faith based 501 (c) (3) nonprofit,” Overcomers on the Move”, that specializes in peer support and peer-led recovery housing. Kim advocates for change through writing, speaking and empowering peers to foster recovery capital. She began her professional experience in the chemical dependency field 2009, is a Certified Peer Support Specialist Supervisor, and serves as an Anti-Human Trafficking Specialist. In January 2024 Kim received an honorable award from the State of Ohio Governor's Office for her work with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections Human Trafficking Strategic Planning Committee.
Recovery Guide, Certified PRS, Southeast Healthcare's Vocational Services
Kelli Shoupe is a Certified Peer Recovery Supporter with Southeast Healthcare’s Vocational Services. She has a history of “life interruptions” and has been undiagnosed, misdiagnosed and re-diagnosed. Looking back, she does not know how much was right or wrong. What she is sure of is that there have been very dark, confusing, or chaotic times in her life, mixed with variations of calm. Answers have not come easy. She had to become the biggest voice and the largest power in finding meaning and value in her life. She knows recovery is possible for everyone, and that it is different for everyone. She believes that “Wellness…is not a destination but a process.”

Luke Preston, RecoveryGuide, CPRS says, “I think of myself as still in the middle of my own Recovery. In fact, I do not necessarily think of Recovery as a destination but as the journey itself. In focusing on reaching a specific destination we can often put on blinders and overlook all the opportunities for growth and fulfillment along the way. By seeing Recovery as a lifelong journey, we can focus less on the end goal and more on the present and the life around us waiting to be lived. As a Peer I strive to help people find their own pathway towards the adventure of Recovery, using my own experiences as guideposts and their ambitions as the direction. Helping people in this way gives me the daily reminder I need as a Peer that Recovery is both possible and requires frequent maintenance.” Luke left a career in IT and has transformed his energy into giving back to those who wish to have support and guidance in their journey of Recovery. He is a Recovery Guide at Southeast My Recovery Works Programs.
Gabe Howard
Gabe Howard is an award-winning podcast host, author, and sought-after speaker, but he wouldn’t be any of those things today if he hadn’t been committed to a psychiatric hospital and diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2003. In November of 2022, Gabe had the distinct honor of speaking at Oxford University in England. Gabe’s podcast can be found on the world’s largest health website, Healthline.com. Each week, he interviews celebrities, experts, and other notables about psychology, mental illness, and mental health. His show has been honored by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and Wego Health. Previous guests have included Dr. Phil McGraw, Alanis Morissette, and Jennette McCurdy, among others. Among his many awards, he is the recipient of Mental Health America’s Norman Guitry Award and received a resolution from the Governor of Ohio naming him an “Everyday Hero.” Gabe makes his home in Central Ohio with his wife, Kendall, and a Miniature Schnauzer that he never wanted, but now can’t imagine life without.
