Members Statement of Beliefs
Members of the Ohio Collaborative for Perinatal Mental Health are committed to providing quality, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed care to every individual navigating their perinatal journey regardless of gender identity, age, race, sexual orientation, religion, or disability. Providers are committed to competent, compassionate care throughout the individual’s engagement with the collaborative and its members, including a direct referral process, commitment to appropriate care within the member’s scope of practice, fostering of client self-determination, and collaboration with the POEM Program.
Membership Benefits
While clients remain at the forefront of our mission and vision, the Ohio Collaborative for Perinatal Mental Health was also created to support providers. We recognize that Perinatal Mental Health is a small but growing field and connection to other perinatal providers offers opportunities for growth through activities such as continuing education, advocacy, and quarterly meetings as well as peer engagement and consultation – all of which we are committed to fostering for our members. Member benefits include:
- Quarterly Networking Meetings with Organizations that Service Perinatal Populations
- Quarterly Consultation Meetings on topics relevant to Perinatal Mental Health
- Quarterly Provider Self-Care Sessions for Support
- Features in marketing materials/social media posts
- Access to 2 yearly CEU programs for Free or at a Discounted Rate
- Participation in the POEM Referral Network
Additional member benefits will continue to be explored. Please reach out to pmhcollab@mhaohio.org for suggestions regarding what benefits you’d like to see as the collaborative grows. Lifetime membership dues are $150. Please note that activities not listed above, as well as quarterly CEUs may have an additional cost.
We ask that members of the Ohio Collaborative for Perinatal Mental Health-
- Keep all Contact Information Up to Date in the Collaborative Directory and POEM Directory
- Adhere to ethical guidelines of your discipline code of ethics and appropriate Ohio licensing board (ACA, NASW, LMFTs, APA, NPs, Psychiatrists)
- Additionally, the collaborative encourages practitioners to commit to sustaining a portion of their caseload to support perinatal mental health clients.
Students may join as Associate Members while enrolled in a credentialed program. Please contact pmhcollab@mhaohio.org for more information.
Maintaining Membership Requirements:
As a member of the Ohio Collaborative for Perinatal Mental Health, the following criteria ensures that all providers are committed to our mission of quality and accessible perinatal mental health services.
- Complete 6 CEUs (continuing education units/credits) in perinatal mental health annually
- Attend 2 of 4 quarterly meetings
- Complete and receive approval for participation in the POEM Provider Directory
- Keep all contact information up to date in the collaborative directory
- Adherence to ethical guidelines of your discipline code of ethics and appropriate Ohio licensing board (ACA, NASW, LMFTs, APA, NPs Psychiatrists)
Additionally, the collaborative encourages practitioners to commit 40-60% of their caseload to support perinatal mental health.
